Udupi : The Udyava Milk Producers Cooperative Farmers Association has been campaigning for government land for the past 17 years. 2.3 cents wandering from office to office for space sanction. However, there was no use, said Vijayakumar, president of the association.
Speaking at a press conference in Udupi, he said that according to the land allotment rules, the AC rejected our application saying that private organizations are not allowed to allot government land. This is an anti-farmer law.
The association has been functioning for the last 17 years in a temporary building of tin sheet without proper room, own building. Milk is collected and supplied to KMF. He said that even though they have modern computers and testing tools, they are moving from rented building to rented building, but now the milk is being stored/supplied in the shed.
We have 250 members and if all family members are included we have 1000 votes. He demanded that the people’s representatives should respond appropriately and fulfill the demands of the association.Vice President Deju Pujari, Directors Vithala Jatanna, Vijayakumar Kalaibail, Sukumar, Bhaskar Anchan were present in the press conference.
