Working Journalists Association in Silver Celebration

Udupi: The Udupi District Working Journalists Association has entered its 25th year and is celebrating its silver jubilee. Silver Jubilee Committee President Muhammad Sharif Karkala said that this useful association intends to organize a total of 25 programs throughout the year.

Speaking at a press conference called at Udupi Press Bhavan, he said that under the auspices of Udupi District Working Journalists Association, Udupi Press Bhavan Committee and Karkala, Kapu, Kundapur, Byndur, Brahmavara, Hebri taluk working journalists associations have decided to organize various programs.

 

President of Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association Rajesh Shetty Alevuru said that the inauguration ceremony of the Silver Jubilee celebrations will be held on March 19 at 2 pm at the new Rabindra Mandapam of Udupi MGM College. Organized on this occasion, the aim is to set up a Journalist Welfare Development Fund. He said that it has been decided to celebrate the inauguration of A.18 as the foundation day of Udupi District Working Journalists Association.

Among the 25 programs of Rajata Mahotsav are association diary release, health camp, charity lecture, commemoration and award distribution, cartoon mela, state level cricket tournament, workshop for journalists, village stay by journalists, phone in action, workshop for journalism students, photography competition, release of commemorative issue, senior Honoring journalists, friendship meeting of journalists, cultural program of journalists, creation of a book about deceased journalists, cycle procession, interaction with the state president were important, he said.

The Silver Jubilee closing ceremony is planned to be organized in the month of December. A plan to expand the Patrika Bhawan building, which is the head office of the Sangh, which is functioning at Brahmagiri Nairkere, Udupi, has also been laid, and the total silver jubilee program will cost Rs 2-3 crore. He informed that it has been decided to conduct at cost.

Nazir Polya, general secretary of the association, Jayakara Suvarna, general secretary of the committee, Umesh Marpalli, treasurer, Arun Kumar Shiruru, member of the national committee of the association were present in the press conference.
