Udupi: The 5th edition of Manipal Marathon will be held on February 12 under the auspices of Manipal Academy of Higher Education and District Amateur Athletic Association, said the co-chancellor of Mahe Manipal Dr. H.S. Ballal.
Speaking at a press conference in Udupi, he said that this year’s marathon aims to raise awareness about cancer in children and raise funds for medical expenses. It will be the largest student organized marathon event in the country. He said that thousands of runners from different countries of the world will participate in this.
This marathon will be held in five sections and will cover 42 km. Full Marathon, 21 km to Half Marathon, 10 km. Run, 5 km. Run- Udupi District Police informed that the awareness run against drug addiction and 3 km rotary fun run will be included.
In the press conference, MLA K. who is the chairman of the marathon organizing committee. Dr. Raghupathi Bhat, President of Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association. Kempraj H. B., NEB Sports Bangalore is its director Nagaraja Adiga, Mahe Manipal is sports council’s sports secretary Dr. Vinod Naik, Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association Secretary Dinesh Kumar A., Member Lachendra, Madhu Dixit were present.
