Udupi: Pedestrian killed after hit by scooter

Udupi: A scooty hit a pedestrian on National Highway 66, killing one person and injuring two others on the night of Thursday September 8.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh L. Puthran (40). Eeranna and Harish Salian both suffered injuries in the accident.

Harish and Suresh were riding the scooty back home after finishing their fishing work at Malpe. The two-wheeler hit Eeranna who was walking beside the highway near Muloor. Suresh, who was riding pillion, suffered serious injuries as a result.

According to sources, Harish also sustained serious injuries, while Eeranna broke his leg. The locals came to their aid and rushed the three to the hospital, where Suresh was declared dead.

A case has been registered at the Kapu Police Station.
